Today is our
6 year anniversary =) Weeee!!!! I can not think of a better way to spend
it than as a family together. I was asked by a friend what "special
thing" I had gotten my wife. "A nap" I responded.
Max had a rough
night last night. Not exactly sure what was up with him - but he was certainly
up. This has happened twice before but we thought it was s/t Margaret ate.
Turns out, it may just be a normal growing process for our little prince.
Max has kinda gotten
into this routine of "tanking up" for a few hours between 6 and
10pm. He will nurse for 20 minutes, rest or fall asleep, then nurse for another
20 minutes. he will repeat this for between 1 and 3 hours. Then he conks
out for a good 3-4 hours. He wakes up every night @ midnight or 1 then sleeps
till 5 or 6. WOW! What more could we ask for?
We are getting
spoiled to the point where last night was a"hard" night cuz he
woke up @ 1 and stayed up till after 2 then woke again @ 5. From what we
are hearing, this is normal! Sheesh! How to folks do it? We in the McKnight
household enjoy our beauty rest =) Fortunately, so does Maximilian.
The daylight
hours started with a tired mommy. Fortunately, Max was rather beat himself
and allowed me to chill with him from 8 till noon. Mom woke up complaining
that the "tanks" were full, but Max, true to his "taking
after mom" nature was not ready to eat yet. He finally nursed just
before 1 and finished and laid down for a nap @ 2.
And that was
when the fun began!
We put him
in our wonderful sling, unfolded our Evenflo
FeatherLight™ Plus Travel System and took off for our first "outing" as
a happy new fam! We strolled up the street to the house I grew up in that
my bro and his fam now live in. We hung out with them for a few minutes
before they had to leave and then crossed the street to chill with the
Arents. We had a very nice and relaxed visit and the strolled by home.
Seeing as how Max-baby
was still sacked out, we decided to push our luck and head down to Grace's
Bakery for their second to last day of retail operation. (We are sad to see
them go!) Just to show you what a great child we have found... he slept the
whole way till we were 50 feet from our door, then opened his eyes and simply
coo'ed at us till we got home, put our loot away, and allowed mom to get
all set up. he "bellied up to the bar" with not so much as a whimper
or a squeak.
Did I mention
that I love my child? He is fantabulous! he is everything and more than
we could have ever hoped for. What a wonderful, wonderful time to be a
live. Max is 3 weeks old today. What a perfect anniversary present for
his mommy and dah =)
